How Do I Meet People?
Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church.
Small Groups
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small Bible studies held in member homes. The size of the group is typically anywhere from six to twelve people. Small groups are a great way to build friendships, dig deeper, and share life.
Children’s Ministry
Children of all ages are invited to participate in the wide range of activities available for them. On Sunday mornings, we have nursery care for the very young and Children’s Church during the worship service for the older kids. There’s also dedicated Sunday School classes just for them. During the week, children can join AWANA and Upward Basketball.

Young Adults
Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of our church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.
Youth Ministry
Youth in grades 7-12 are encouraged to get involved with FIRE Student Ministries under the leadership of Scott Reynolds and Tim Cook. Click here to learn more about FIRE Student Ministries.
Hospitality
The hospitality team supports fellowship and outreach by providing food and service for church events, dinners, and funerals. Help is needed with food preparation, setting up events, service during events, and/or clean-up.

Women’s Group
Women’s groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups are times of Bible study and prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.
Christian Education Team
It takes time and energy to equip teaching teams to grow children and adults in the knowledge of and faith in God. Teachers, helpers, and behind-the-scenes preparers come together to make this happen.

Married Couples
Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. The church gives married couples the opportunity to join marriage classes to strengthen their bond.
Business Administration Team
God’s plan is exciting. The Business Administration Team oversees and protects the fiscal safety of Lakewood Baptist Church so that God’s plan can be realized without restriction.

All volunteers working with our children must first complete a comprehensive background safety check. There is no cost to you.
